SNL just might be getting better [Exhibit A]:
So Megan Fox was mediocre hosting “Saturday Night Live“‘s premier. And I’m not even a Megan Fox hater—I went and paid to see her “vehicle” “Jennifer’s Body,” aka Gratuity At Its Finest (and by “Finest,” I mean most gratuitous). And I even dared to enjoy it in all of its silliness. But the truth is that Megan Fox is pretty boring at sketch comedy. She wasn’t horrible, but the third promo here is probably funnier than most of her hosting night.
But SNL’s week 2, Ryan Reynolds hosting made my weekend. More specifically, THIS made my weekend. Seriously. Click that link. And watch Elijah Wood’s face. Carefully.
Then this past weekend Drew Barrymore brought her boyfriend along:
And if you don’t actually look at him, his voice is pretty dead on. I also enjoyed Drew Barrymore’s self-deprecating opening monologue. It broke the typical I’m-so-excited-to-be-here bit with cast-members-doing/saying-things-that-make-me-uncomfortable mold.
Next up on the attractive host train is Gerard Butler, whose bad movies I also indulge. But if this scene (from a good movie!) is any indication, he does have charm and comedy chops. Here’s to hoping he uses them.
